TOUR PROGRAM |
Day 01: ARRIVE DELHI
Upon arrival our representative will receive you and guide you to your
vehicle. Drive to your designated hotel Taj Mahal. Our representative will
assist you with the check-in formalities and inform you of your next day’s
program.
Day 02: DELHI
Since the flights arrive late in the night the morning is to relax and
unwind.
You have a very interesting walk today around the Qutub Minar, which is an
important landmark of Delhi. The area around Qutab Minar is full of very
interesting ruins of ancient settlements of the Hindu & Islamic rulers. Also the
British used the area for weekend getaways from the Imperial Delhi. During this
Walk you will discover the Jamali Kamali Mosque, and the ruins of the Palaces,
Gardens laid by the English & a Step Well. You will require a whole morning
approx. 4 hrs to discover the entire area.
Day 03: DELHI / UDAIPUR
Our representative will escort you to the airport and help you in all
formalities for check-in for your flight to Udaipur. Upon arrival you will be
received at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Udaipur is known as the
“Venice of the East” because of the Lakes and the setting of the city on the
shores.
Flight Schedule - 9W707 1205/1300 HRS.
Later in the late afternoon enjoy a private boat ride on Lake Pichola and visit
the Jag Mandir.
Day 04: UDAIPUR
After a leisurely breakfast visit the City Palace built on the shores of the
Pichola Lake and start your walk of the Old City.
The first interesting sight at the Tripolia Gate of the City Palace will be the
seven Torans (archways). The first part of the Bazaar is full of small shops on
both sides of the road selling Handicrafts. Further down the road, there the
Jagdish Temple. You continue your walk down the road towards the Clock Tower
where you will see many interesting local shops selling different articles of
day-to-day requirements. From Clock Tower you turn into the Silver market, where
you will see many shops selling Silver Jewellery and articles.
Further down the road are shops for hand made shoes, which are typical of the
region. You can buy some of the typical embroidery shoes called Jutties. The
road takes you to the Vegetable Market and the walk end at the Delhi Gate, an
important landmark of the City.
Rest of the day is free to go for shopping or relax at the pool.
Day 05: UDAIPUR / NARLAI
Today you have an exciting drive through the Aravalli Hills to the Temples
of Ranakpur. The main temple complex stands on 1444 marble pillars and no two
pillars have the same carving them. The entire complex is tucked away in a gorge
in the Hills and offers an insight into the Jain religion.
You will drive further on to Ghanerao from where you will start your walk
through the hills and villages in the Aravalli Hills. You will cover approx. 8
miles at leisure and arrive at Narlai just before the sunset.
Narlai is a quaint little hamlet dotted with beautiful old temples, a step well
and marble archways. The Hotel Rawala Narlai has been done up very tastefully by
its well-known designer owner, Ragvendra Singh Rathore.
Once you have settled down you can enjoy a quite dinner on the poolside Lawns.
Day 06: NARLAI / JODHPUR
In the morning enjoy a relaxed breakfast and then get ready to drive to
Jodhpur. After arrival in the City drive to your hotel our representative will
be there to assist you with the check-in formalities.
The City of Jodhpur was founded by Rao Jodha in the 15th cent and is dotted with
many unique charaters. As you go around the city you will find that most houses
are built of red sand stone which is quarried around the City itself. The view
of the City from the Fort loks all blue giving the City a new name “ Blue City”.
The Mehrangarh Fort itself and the Umaid Bhawan Palace perched on top of two
rocky hills can be seen from any part of the city or from a far distance.
A walk around the Clock Tower and parts of the old city are also worthwhile.
Rest of the evening is at leisure.
Day 07: JODHPUR / OSIAN
After a leisurely breakfast you leave for Osian, your encounter with the
real Sand Dunes and desert experience.
You will be staying at the Desert camp of Reggie Singh the grandson of Maharaja
Ratan Singh of Jodhpur who is famous for his Polo and Shikar exploits.
On arrival you will be welcomed at the camp and taken to your comfortable Royal
Tents with a Veranda in the front and a bath room attached at the back.
Later in the evening folk
musicians and dancers will entertain you around a bonfire. This will be followed
by a candlelight dinner.
Day 08: OSIAN – JODHPUR - JAIPUR
You will have an early breakfast and then head out on a 02 hour Camel Safari
where you will get to the some Bishnoi villages, shepherds and Chinkars or Black
Bucks.
After your return to the Camp pack up and get ready to leave the Camp to drive
to the airport in Jodhpur to take a flight to Jaipur.
Flight Schedule - IT4302 1600/1830 HRS.
You will be received at the airport and escorted to your hotel.
Rest of the evening is free for individual activities.
Day 09: JAIPUR
After breakfast you embark for an exciting walking trip of Amer Palace and
its surroundings. The walk will culminate with a lunch with the Royal Family
members of Jaipur at Dera Amer.
Once you have visited the Amer Palace complex take a short break and get ready
for the next leg of walk which will take you through the Old City behind the
Palace, to the Akbari Mosque in Amer town and then along the hills through the
jungle to a very beautiful Govinddevji Temple at the foot hills. Once you are at
the Temple you can look back and see the trail you had followed down here with
the Jaigarh Fort in the backdrop.
The valley is miles long and on a clear day one can see as far as the horizon
goes. After the visit of the Temple you will walk down to our Lunch spot at Dera
Amer. Dera Amer is the Farm House of the family members of the Jaipur Royal
Family . You will enjoy the lunch cooked by the family who will also join you
and narrate old stories & their experiences of the Raj.
Day 10: JAIPUR - RANTHAMBORE
Today you have a five hour journey by road to reach Ranthombore, which at
one time was the hunting grounds for the Royal Family of Jaipur. The Sanctuary
has over 38 tigers and the numbers are growing due to safe breeding grounds &
constant vigil by the authorities.
After arrival and settling down at your resort you will be met with our
naturalist who will take you in a private Jeep for the first round of Safari
into the Jungle.
In the evening our naturalist will show you a slide show & talk to you about the
Park and give you detailed information. He will also inform you about the day’s
activity fir the next day.
Day 11: RANTHAMBORE
You have a full day to enjoy the Park and the surroundings including the
Fort perched on top of the hill.
Day 12: RANTHAMBORE – BHARATPUR – AGRA
Today you have a train Journey to Bharatpur, which is where the Keoladeo
Bird Sanctuary was established in 1956. The Bird Sanctuary was also a hunting
ground of the Maharajas of Bharatpur. The Sanctuary is spread over 20 sq. miles
& is famous for the Siberian Cranes and many other migratory birds. There is
also a large number of residential ones to be seen here.
After arrival you will be received and a lunch a arranged at the Laxmi Vilas
Palace Hotel. You will be escorted by our bird expert for a quick visit to the
Sanctuary. Later drive to Agra.
Day 13: AGRA
Though Taj Mahal can be visited at any time of the day but visiting it in
the early morning just before sunrise and watch it glow with the sunlight is an
experience that can only be witnessed in person.
Emperor Shajhan built this poem in white marble for his beloved wife Mumtaj
Mahal who died after giving birth to their 14th child.
Agra Fort is next on the agenda and the majestic Fort built by Emperor Akbar in
Red Sand Stone is another World Heritage Monument, which is worth visiting. It
also gives a fantastic view of the Taj Mahal with the riverbed in the backdrop.
NOTE: Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.
Day 14: AGRA - DELHI
You have time to take it easy today and drive back to Delhi to arrive during
the day. Later in the night you will be escorted to the international airport
and our representative will assist you in the Check-in.
Day 15: DELHI – BACK HOME
Flight back home.
